These are not (valid) excuses, but these are the key things that I let me keep me from running. I'm not listing them to justify why I didn't run, I'm listing them for me to document and examine to see if there is a pattern I can help break.
- Lakefront Marathon - there is much work and some celebratory activity (now that I am in a leadership role on its staff) that I allow to take a priority over my me-tasks
- Barb T's Wedding and Travel to Vegas- almost the same result, I feel this is an important one time thing. One-time being significant because it means I can't skip out and do it next time. I allowed this to take a priority over me
- Soar Throat and Cough - I do not exercise when I don't feel well and this cold and cough lasted for 2 weeks.
- Soar Right Knee - my knee feels tight and swollen often when I either do too much or wear shoes that don't provide enough support. The knee hurt after the black trail hike; that trail has lots of hills and is about 7 miles. The knee also hurt after Vegas when walking around in sandals. I've been home from Vegas since Monday and my knee seams to be
So there is hope - I have a goal, the Santa Hustle, I like to walk - can I push that to a run/walk and keep pushing to a (slow) run? and I could have a trainer to help get me there. My cold/cough is almost gone. My biggest concern/excuse is my right knee. I need it to stop hurting!
